Q: What should students wear?
We are not strict at Hype. However, our studio colours are red and navy, so any clothing in these colours are accepted.
Q: What should be worn to the first class?
Comfortable clothing such as leggings and a t-shirt with bare feet or joggers is fine for the first lesson.
Q: What costs are involved?
Please contact Kelly on 0400 294 117 for cost information or check out our price list online.
Q: Do parents watch?
We encourage the parents to wait in the office for their child’s first class as it can be distracting for them and the others. We do however open the studio doors a little early before class finishes and invite you in to watch the last 5 minutes. The teacher will then give you feedback on how their first lesson went and whether they are in the class best suited for them. We also have a viewing week at the end of terms 1 and 2.
Q: Do we pay for missed classes?
We do not refund fees for missed classes.
Q: When and where is the Hype Performance Studios end of year revue held?
Our end of year revue is generally always in the month of November and is held at Port Kembla Leagues Club.
Q: At what age can my child start dancing?
We have classes from 2 years and up.
Q: Does my child have to do eisteddfods and concerts?
Eisteddfods are optional, as are concerts, but it is rare that a student doesn’t perform in the concert.
Q: Do I have to pay for a whole term or can I pay weekly? What method do you offer?
We prefer payment by term, but we do also allow weekly. We offer bank transfer (EFT).
Q: Do I need to let you know if my child is absent?
Yes. We appreciate a text message. If we don’t hear, we may think the child has lost interest. Class attendance is important so the dancer doesn’t fall behind.
Q: Can we enrol in dancing classes after the dancing term has already started?
Yes – we accept new students throughout the year. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org for a timetable and price list.
Q: Does Hype Performance Studios break for school holidays?
Yes – we dance during the NSW schools terms.
Q: How expensive is it to be a part of the end of year revue?
At Hype we keep the costs down for you wherever we can. Costume costs are low as we charge a hire fee for each costume which saves you having to buy each costume which the child will mostly likely grow out of and never wear again.
